Reconnect Residency 2023

As part of the Reconnect Residency 2023, the Canton of Baselland’s Cultural Promotion Office is awarding grants to eight artists and enabling them to spend two weeks at the Castelen estate in Augusta-Raurica.
Documentary film director Anna Thommen and screenwriter Joël Jent are using the residency to work on developing their hybrid film project between fiction and documentary. Against the backdrop of a small village, the team of authors processes experiences around the theme of masculinity in fictionalized form. In addition to Anna Thommen and Joël Jent, the other fellows of the residency are Anna Maria Balint and Aline Stalder (visual arts), Kihako Narisawa and Joseph W. Alford (dance and theater), and Martin Reck and Olivia Zaugg (music). On Saturday, July 15, insight into the projects of the artists will be given during the public closing event in the garden of Villa Castelen.
